Hey! I’m Henny, a UK-born, Melbourne-based photographer. My ever-growing love for photography was sparked early in my childhood through photo expeditions with my photographer-fanatic father. Since then, photography has become my muse and my lifelong passion. I’m particularly interested in how we experience place through our senses, how the interplay of light, colour and memory shapes our connection to the natural world.

Through film photography, I slow down the creative process to intentionally observe and preserve moments. I find beauty in the world around us, embracing serenity and balance in both stillness and movement.

I’ve always felt very drawn to the ocean. But it wasn’t until I lived beside the sea in Tathra earlier this year, on Australia’s east coast, that this connection created a new meaning. There, I discovered a landscape of rich hues and shifting light and a profound sense of release, both in myself and in the people I observed. Quiet rituals by the shore inspire my images that explore this shared connection to the sea.
